PercyMD is a product of Percentric Technologies, LLC, which operates it and is responsible for this policy.

PercyMD provides secure text messaging for healthcare practices and medical organizations. Because PercyMD may handle protected health information (PHI), this policy and PercyMD's HIPAA obligations govern how information is handled.

Information we collect

We collect account and billing information from healthcare organizations, and the contact information and message content sent and received through the platform. This may include patient phone numbers, names, appointment details, and message text that constitutes PHI.

HIPAA and protected health information

PercyMD acts as a business associate to covered entities that use the platform. PHI is handled under a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and applicable HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules. PercyMD applies administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect PHI.

How we use information

We use information to operate the messaging platform, deliver messages, provide support, maintain audit and compliance records, and meet legal and contractual obligations. PHI is used and disclosed only as permitted by the BAA and HIPAA.

Sharing

We share information with carriers, infrastructure providers, and subcontractors bound by equivalent safeguards, and with authorities where legally required. PercyMD does not sell personal information or PHI.

Data retention

We retain message, audit, and billing records for the periods required by HIPAA, applicable law, and our agreements with covered entities.

Your choices

Patients should direct requests about their health information to their healthcare provider (the covered entity). Practices can request access, amendment, or deletion of data consistent with HIPAA and the BAA.

Texts from PercyMD

When you text PercyMD or opt in to texts from PercyMD, we use your phone number and messages only to reply to you and to send the texts you agreed to receive. We do not share mobile phone numbers, text message opt-in data, or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies.
